Microsoft’s exam 70-270, Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional, is a core requirement for the MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) on Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003, and MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) on Microsoft Windows 2000 and 2003 certifications. It is designed for candidates who will operating as Windows System Administrators in a medium to large scale environment.

  • Installing Windows XP Professional
  • Implementing and Conducting Administration of Resources
  • Implementing, Managing, and Troubleshooting Hardware Devices and Drivers
  • Monitoring and Optimizing System Performance and Reliability

I was nervous about the test and spent a week cramming before the test. Was unsure about a few questions but came out with a score of 889. Don't take the test for granted.

Took this one back in July. It was the first MS exam I ever took so I was a bit nervous going in. Took about an hour, got 810. Used ActualTests and MeasureUp as my prep. Not too bad, though if you've XP for years, it's pretty straightforward.

Not to bad, I used TestKing and the study guide I got from this site. Wish I had more time, could have gotten a higher score.

I got a 1000 on the XP Pro exam. I read the exam cram book and took the transcenders exam prep. I did not get perfect scores on the transcenders, but the questions were very similar in concepts. If you can pass all of the transcenders and read the exam cram you are set. Now on to 70-290. This time I am using the MS press books.

...then the 70-270 is one holy cert. Besides covering a wide area of detailed subject matter, there's tons of verbiage with the salient bits tucked into different parts of each senario with the odd softball thrown in for fun. Take as many practice exams as you can & use more than 1 source for study material & pratice exams. I used MS Press training kit, Preplogic CBT & exams & Skillsoft CBT & Testprep exams. Scored a 715 in about 90 minutes after 3 weeks of evening study after work. If you don't administer the OS every day, do all of the hands-on exercises & simulations that you can find.

I passed this with some difficulty. The questions were tricky, but if you know the course you should clear it. I had a lot of questions that covered all the exam objectives. I had to know the topics, but it didn't get too in depth with any 1 of them. Anybody with experience installing and administering XP shouldn't have any problems. Those without experience should study the courseware thoroughly.

I Sat this exam on Friday, was delighted with 921. Used official Microsoft material and testking and some simulations. Have been supporting XP for years, so alot of it was easy enough, but doable if you are new to the industry.

This exam tests you thoroughly on your knowledge of Windows XP Professional. I learned a whole lot during the process of studying for 70-270 matter of fact this exam has already prepared me for 70-271. If you know XP Pro very well, then you shouldn't have a problem but make sure that your knowledge is thorough especially on the networking side, good luck everybody!!

Took the exam today. Two and a half hours (I think) to answer 58 questions with a passing score of 700. How people can not pass this exam I have no idea. I spent about a week or so half-heartedly reading the MSPress book and an old Testking PDF and got a 952 in twenty minutes. Granted, I have been working with the product almost every day for a few years so that definitely helped but still, this was the easiest test I've ever taken and now I'm an MCSA so a good day all around.

Untitled Document > Persistent Group Chat: An Approach for More Profitable Team Communications : Unlike email, instant messages (IMs) do not allow group communication; nor do they persist -- you can't hold on to them for as long as you wish. Persistent group chat, however, allows businesses to organize persistent dialogue around business-critical topics, and keep them for easy retrieval later.
